Secondary 1 Entrance Exam
2027–2028 School Year
Dear Parents and Guardians,
The Secondary 1 Entrance Exam for students entering Secondary 1 in the 2027–2028 school year will take place as follows:
Exam Information
The exam consists of three sections: English, French and Mathematics (in either language).
Each section will last approximately 45 minutes, with a 15-minute break. Please provide your child with a snack. Juice and water will be provided.
What Students Should Bring
- Two HB pencils
- Two blue ballpoint pens
- One eraser

Elementary School
Prospective students who wish to attend Royal Vale School must complete an entrance exam. Exams for the following school year are held once a year.
Kindergarten students’ parents will need to register their children in January. Following the kindergarten registration, an appointment will be given to parents for their children’s assessment. The assessments will be done within a few weeks and a letter will be sent home to confirm the acceptance or refusal.
Prospective students from grades 1-6 must write an entrance exam. New students entering grades to are tested to make sure they have the necessary level of French, English and Mathematics. Based on availability and results, a letter will be sent home to confirm the acceptance or refusal.
High School
Prospective students who wish to attend Royal Vale School must complete an entrance exam. Exams for the following school year are held once a year.
Current students completing grade 6 at Royal Vale elementary do not have to write an entrance exam to attend the high school program.
